Script Rewrite for a Social Media Video
UP (The vegan design agency) approached me to take a look at their (already fantastic) script and give it some of the ole creative pazazz
Who is the client?
UP is a vegan design agency based in London. They’ve been in business since the 80s and their clients include vegan businesses, animal rights organisations and brilliant charities like Animal Aid, Compassion in World Farming and Save the Children. In other words, they’re amazing.
Why did they hire me?
I’ve worked with the amazing people at UP on several projects in the past. Especially when it comes to projects involving animal rights and the vegan industry (vegan copywriter here!). The team wanted me to look at a script for a spoof (Dragon’s Den) video about the dairy industry. They’d already written the script and filmed the scenes, but they had room for changes and some more creative pazazz.
How did I approach the project?
With a lot of enthusiasm! As someone who has been vegan for over 10 years, I’ve got the knowledge and experience to take on vegan copywriting projects without needing to do much research. The only thing I needed to know more about was Dragon’s Den. I spent some time on YouTube and came up with some script changes that I thought would work well.
What were the results?
I came up with some great short creative script copy that the amazing people at UP loved. This included the line, ‘what does he think we are, muppets,’ which was used as the last line of the video. Wanna watch the video? Check out UP on Instagram and look for the Dragon’s Den vid.
